Because few trading platforms are supporting expert advisors (trading robot), and there was no trading platform supporting backtesting on mobile.
I had a job to do before I started my own business and started focusing on the development of the trading platform full-time. I needed to spend hours on the commute and couldn't do anything except reading or sleeping. I bought an iPad to read the online PDFs on the commute then.
But if I left the trade positions open, I couldn't calm down to read books. I needed to check the online news on the train via my mobile frequently. Sometimes I thought of a new idea, such as why not employ RSI with an Exponential Moving Average, why not set the period of the fast SMA(Simple Moving Average) as 20 for the MACD, etc... So, once I got back home, I opened my desktop soon and started running backtesting for the new trading strategies that appeared in my mind on the commute.

Because during the period of my commute, the markets moved on the orientation as I expected, I should have got some profits.
In Japan, doing extra work was very common for me. I work very hard, and I always got home after 10 o'clock. The experienced traders must know that the market movements are surging during the period between 8 o'clock and 10 o'clock. So I always missed the most appropriate time to trade.
